if you follow the blog you know that we are big fans of road trips – whenever we have a destination wedding we always block some free days to explore and for any occasion, if we can drive – we’re all over it! (never mind the fact that I’m not what you would call an enthusiastic flyer) so being as we have a small window of time off, we hit the road to north carolina. liv was supposed to come with us too, but she is having all of her wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow…. no fun. kris and I had gone to wilmington a couple of years ago to visit our friend and photographer millie holloman. it was our first time there and we loved it but it was a super short trip and we felt like there was so much we didn’t get to do so it seemed like a perfect destination. the weather was amazing and we spent 2 glorious days doing nothing but exactly what we wanted to do – including dinner with millie. she told us all about her newest venture pressed cotton (brides and wedding/event design professionals, you simply MUST check them out!! so many creative products for weddings and special occasions) AND got a tour of her amazing studio/office which was in it’s beginning stages the last time we visited. as we headed back to maryland we made 2 stops that made my heart smile. since leaving colorado 11 years ago, I’ve only had the opportunity to see a handful of my friends from boulder and it just so happened that recently 2 of them have brought their culinary talents east. we visited them both – one for lunch in greensboro, nc at the wolfgang puck pizza/bar and the other for dinner at the magpie in richmond, va. delicious meals and many shared memories got me SO excited for my upcoming trip to the rockies.  as usual, a wonderful time was had with my favorite co-pilot as we instagrammed our way through our latest adventure :)
