If you read the blog you’ll notice that most of our weddings are “across the bridge” and while we love the diversity of all the different venues over there, we’re learning that we have more and more amazing locations in our own backyard.  When I first met with Melba and she shared that she and Jordy were getting married on a riverboat- well that was a first and I couldn’t wait!  The first time I met Jordy (and their adorable pups Murph + Kinsey) was at their e-session.  We all hit it off as we spent the day in several different spots around the shore.  When wedding day finally rolled around, I knew that they had some awesome surprises in store.  The first, at least for me, was what Jordy and his guys were wearing- complete with fedoras, they set the tone for the riverboat theme. :)  Melba too, wore a beautiful vintage gown and her grandmother’s broach in her hair.  As they got ready for first look the whole family gathered outside to watch.  Normally a moment between only the bride and groom, having everyone there seemed perfect for this intimate wedding.  The  special touches that they had planned continued at their ceremony on the banks of the Choptank River as bagpipes preceded Melba’s walk down the aisle.  As she held her bouquet of flowers designed by her grandmother, Melba + Jordy exchanged their handwritten vows and celebrated their love in front of their closest family and friends.

Melba + Jordy, I’ve had such a wonderful time working with you and getting to know you and your family.  Thank you for a truly original and special day and for helping me discover a new treasure on the Eastern Shore! :)  xoxo Kristie
