it’s pretty rare these days that I don’t meet a couple before wedding day. whether it’s during a consultation or their engagement session, I usually am pretty familiar with the bride and groom before their big day – and if I’m honest, if we haven’t met, I always have a small case of the ‘I-hope-they-like-me’ butterflies. well… I needn’t have worried. as soon as I met kerry, she greeted me with a big hug and started introducing me to her sizable bridal party of equally as nice and welcoming friends. with hair and makeup in it’s last stages, I had the opportunity to tour the venue which was stunning! kerry had handled all of the decor herself and her attention to detail definitely showed in everything from the escort cards to the handmade centerpieces and included a chalkboard with their wedding instagram hashtag (#kerrygotrobbed) – everything flowed together so well and was both lovely and playful. the spring day was simply perfect as guests arrived for the ceremony and took their seats. kerry nervously peeked from the windows as rob and his guys took their place at the end of the aisle.. and then it was her turn. as the pastor spoke the words that kerry had rob had prepared for this day, family and friends looked on and celebrated with them. apart from getting to know kerry, rob and their friends and families, I must admit that one of the highlights of my day was when their dog rayleigh joined us for portraits – whether it was the bustling activity all around her, or only because she was super happy to be with kerry and rob.. rayleigh was definitely excited and a hoot to photograph. once we left to go to the bridge for the portraits of just the two them, it was so clear to me just how in love these two are. in the small pocket of quiet time that they had, they wrapped each other up and got lost in several moments, just for them. I had such a wonderful time spending the day with all of you! you were such a fun and friendly group to work with and had me laughing all day. kerry and rob, I wish you so much happiness in your life together and I am honored that you invited me along for this chapter.
