I’ve known Rowan ever since I can remember and it’s been great seeing her evolve from a little girl to a gorgeous and driven young lady.  She loves to surf and play soccer.  We started at her high school and kicked around the soccer ball for a bit and then made our way to her other home- the beach!  She brought her board that she and her dad made (how cool is that?!) and we had a fun time enjoying the gorgeous weather.  I’m so happy for you Rowan and good luck with college!  Go Chanticlers!!! ;)

Thanks for a fun evening, Rowan!  Good luck with your senior year and your journey after! :)

I have spent the last 12 years living across the street from the lovely reagan and it has been so awesome to watch her grown from a kid to a smart and funny young woman. in fact, her mother wendy and I grew up together – a fact that makes me feel a little ancient, but so grateful to have a lifelong friend next door. reagan loves the beach, volleyball and reading – the portion of her session that we did at the library was so much fun. I am so excited for her as she enters this last year of high school :)

I am so happy for you as you begin this new chapter! and I promise to bring your mother wine and tissues when you leave for college :)

I have know this beautiful gal forever!  Last November I visited Maddie + her wonderful family in her home town of Oahu, Hawaii and this summer she came out to Maryland!  I was pleasantly surprised that she wanted her senior portraits taken on the Eastern Shore when she has the white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters of Hawaii at her backdoor.  I was honored when she asked me to photograph her and when Maddie said that she loved the Shore and that it is apart of her we both thought it fitting to spend the afternoon getting lost down some country roads.

It was so great to see you Maddie!!  I can’t believe you’re graduating next year- I wish you the best of luck with the future and can’t wait to see you again.  Maybe a trip to HI in my future?? ;)

because we were across the bridge so much this summer for weddings, we didn’t have the opportunity to work with as many seniors as we normally do – but those we did photograph, we had an amazing time with. our seniors never cease to amaze us with their great ideas and fun spirits. two of them even traveled from as far as pennsylvania and kansas because they wanted their senior photos on the beach :)

ever since I photographed payton and lexie last year, I have loved these girls. from our first shoot I learned that they are both super comfortable in front of the camera (kind of a rarity at their ages). not only do they photograph amazingly separately, but when they are together it’s perfect! so after last year’s experience I asked them to join us in our annual bridal fashion shoot this past may and they rocked it out! this year, it was chillllly but as usual, there were no complaints, only enthusiasm – lexie even wore her dance gear for a few :) I absolutely love working with these two and watch them as they grow up into some of the coolest young women I know xoxo

until next time ladies….. :)

my dear friend, cake designer extraordinaire and owner of cake art susan and I had wanted to get together for a session with her big beautiful family for awhile – but getting 5 kids, all with different schedules and commitments together at one time? well that’s a challenge… but she made it happen and we decided to meet in downtown salisbury. this is such a fun and wonderful bunch who were up to whatever I suggested, even if that meant sitting in the middle of the street. susan’s son cody, also needed a few senior photos taken as well, so I met up with him before the rest of the family joined us. although he, like most teenage boys, acted as if he hated every minute, I thought he was great! I had such a great time working with them all :)

meet meredith! one of our seniors from the salisbury school. I had been looking forward to this session ever since I first spoke with meredith’s mom, jeanette. she told me that meredith wanted a fun session on the beach but that she also wanted to incorporate her love of dance – specifically ballet. so when we got to our first location and they pulled out a tutu from the back of the truck, I knew we were going to have a great session. meredith is one of the nicest girls I’ve worked with and was willing to do anything I suggested (note: if you tell me you can dance, I will make you jump. a lot.) we had such a beautiful afternoon to shoot and I had such a wonderful time getting to know her :)

thanks for a great day meredith – I hope you have an amazing senior year!

meet grant – our class of 2013 snow hill high senior rep! I’ve known grant’s parents for a few years as they live here in snow hill and were regulars at the palette. we decided to shoot on grant’s birthday actually and we had a beautiful day for it. I knew that grant wanted to integrate his interests including baseball and the guitar so we headed to snow hill high first. then we went to byrd park and the banks of the pocomoke river – he was so fun to work with and I had a great time with him :)

I hope you have a wonderful senior year!

I had the pleasure of working with katherine’s older sister anna a couple of years ago when she was a senior and the whole family was so great to work with! so I was thrilled when mom mary anna contacted me to say that katherine was entering her senior year. all of these sisters are such awesome girls – so friendly and lovely to be around. except…. well, okay. I am a little bit of an olympics freak and because I wouldn’t get anything done if I watched the live daytime stream, I was super careful not to view or listen to anything olympics related until after dinner when my husband and I would settle in to watch it in prime time. and I was successful until that fateful walk as katherine and I approached the dunes of assateague. being a gymnast herself, she was keeping close tabs on the competition and was bubbling with excitement when she casually announced that the american women’s team had won team gold. now to be honest, I didn’t care at all – but I have to admit that it was fun to tease her about it for the rest of the afternoon :) several days later katherine and mary anna came to snow hill and we finished up her session down at the fishing shantys on the bay. I had such a great time and was so happy to work with this amazing family again.

I hope you have a wonderful senior year and thank you for being my worcester prep senior rep!

when I was a senior in high school, we simply had one class period where we would wander down to the auditorium and get 1 head and shoulders shot. looking back, even though I hate my photo taken, I would have loved if we did what seniors do now. my seniors put a lot of thought into where they want to shoot and their outfits, etc. but zoey went a step further – she’s from kansas but had always wanted her senior photos taken on the beach (obviously not possible in land-locked kansas) and when her mom contacted me a couple months about this, I thought it was the coolest thing ever! and since then I have had the pleasure of working with several other seniors who specifically got their photos done while at the beach on vacation (you’ll meet them soon!) zoey came to the session with her mom and grandmother – such a fun bunch. she brought an awesome selection of outfits with a betsy johnson dress that I just adored!

it was so great to meet you all – thanks for a wonderful afternoon!
