conner lives here in snow hill and is the son of my friends, susan and gary. he is also the brother of one of my former senior portrait clients, grant. when we were talking about his session, susan told me that he was very into frisbee golf.. and that he played the drums. but when asked what he wanted his senior portraits to be, conner just wanted to stay here in town and keep it simple. we started at their house like we did with grant – the family has such a lovely back yard and it was nice to visit with their pups again. then we headed to green street – I’ve walked down that road a million times and somehow it always looks just a little different which is pretty cool when choosing spots to photograph. we wound up the session at byrd park – the river and surrounding banks were beautiful on this ideal fall afternoon. conner you were so great to work with and I hope that you have such an exciting and fun-filled senior year!

because we were across the bridge so much this summer for weddings, we didn’t have the opportunity to work with as many seniors as we normally do – but those we did photograph, we had an amazing time with. our seniors never cease to amaze us with their great ideas and fun spirits. two of them even traveled from as far as pennsylvania and kansas because they wanted their senior photos on the beach :)

meet grant – our class of 2013 snow hill high senior rep! I’ve known grant’s parents for a few years as they live here in snow hill and were regulars at the palette. we decided to shoot on grant’s birthday actually and we had a beautiful day for it. I knew that grant wanted to integrate his interests including baseball and the guitar so we headed to snow hill high first. then we went to byrd park and the banks of the pocomoke river – he was so fun to work with and I had a great time with him :)

I hope you have a wonderful senior year!

I had the pleasure of working with katherine’s older sister anna a couple of years ago when she was a senior and the whole family was so great to work with! so I was thrilled when mom mary anna contacted me to say that katherine was entering her senior year. all of these sisters are such awesome girls – so friendly and lovely to be around. except…. well, okay. I am a little bit of an olympics freak and because I wouldn’t get anything done if I watched the live daytime stream, I was super careful not to view or listen to anything olympics related until after dinner when my husband and I would settle in to watch it in prime time. and I was successful until that fateful walk as katherine and I approached the dunes of assateague. being a gymnast herself, she was keeping close tabs on the competition and was bubbling with excitement when she casually announced that the american women’s team had won team gold. now to be honest, I didn’t care at all – but I have to admit that it was fun to tease her about it for the rest of the afternoon :) several days later katherine and mary anna came to snow hill and we finished up her session down at the fishing shantys on the bay. I had such a great time and was so happy to work with this amazing family again.

I hope you have a wonderful senior year and thank you for being my worcester prep senior rep!

we are known as more of a family portrait and wedding photography studio so we don’t do a ton of senior portraits but whenever we are asked, we are thrilled! every session is a new experience and because we like to include the interests of our clients in the sessions, you never know what’s going to come along. last year it was horses and hockey gear – this year we had guitars and trombones :)  it’s such an hour for us to capture this special time in the lives of our seniors

meet molly – our snow hill senior rep! when I met her at our first session at furnacetown, I knew she was going to be a lot of fun to work with. not only was she willing to go along with everything I suggested (even skipping!) she has an easy laugh and a great smile. our second session wasn’t as easy to pull together. knowing that she wanted it to be on assateague, we tried to schedule the perfect time only to get rained out the first time. the second go around looked even worse but we decided to cross our fingers and go for it! I was so glad we did – the skies, while dark were perfect and the beach was practically empty. it was just as we were finishing up that the rain started…

thanks so much molly for such fun sessions – I had a blast working with you!

meet caitlyn – our senior rep for snow hill high school! for the first part of her session we went down to one of my favorite places by the bay – it was a gorgeous and perfect day but there were hundreds, and I mean hundreds of seagulls sunning themselves on the docks – so we kept watch out of the corners of our eyes to make sure we kept them at a safe distance. for the second part of her shoot we went to assateague and the light was stunning – glowy and warm. working with caitlyn was so easy – it’s like we had shot together many times before. she’s very comfortable in front of a camera and was a joy to photograph!

thanks for 2 super fun sessions and for being our senior rep!

meet paige! our senior rep for salisbury christian school. we started our day one session at furnace town – it was my first time shooting a senior session there and I loved it. her pup alice also came along for a few photos and while we were taking some shots, one of the many cats that preside over furnace town came into view. you’ll see in the photos below that the result was hilarious! as with most of my senior girls, we split paige’s session up into 2 days and on the second day we headed to the beach. in addition to her mom, her boyfriend tagged along and we snapped some cute shots of them too!

thanks for some awesome sessions – you were so great to work with and I loved alice – wishing you a wonderful senior year!

it really is hard to believe that it’s time to start booking sessions for the class of 2012 – how time flys! last year was our biggest and best year working with seniors from snow hill, worcester prep, stephen decatur, bennett, salisbury school and mardela and we are so excited for our newest bunch of seniors! the addition of our new studio give us a whole new space to work with as well as our much sought after custom on-location sessions.

we thought we’d take this opportunity to answers some of our most FAQs when it comes to our seniors…

what’s included in the session?  every session includes sitting fee for 2 on-location sites within 40 miles of the studio. clients have their choice of up to 3 outfit changes at any of the locations. each client has their own online gallery which has the option of being password protected. also included is an in-studio formal session and we’ll email your choice to your yearbook for you.

are the locations picked out by you?  absolutely not! these sessions are for our clients – not us. we have questionnaires that we send to find out what you’re all about – it is all about you and this amazing year and milestone in your life! if you need suggestions we are of course happy to oblige, but ideally the sessions are customized specifically for our seniors.

will I be able to have photos for facebook?  you betcha! we will upload your favorite 10 and tag you.

can I do my sessions with my best friend?  yes! we’ve done this before and have loved it – we even had a group of 4 girls who had been best friends since kindergarten and we had a blast! obviously, individual photos are taken of each client as well during the session. there is also a session discount applied when shooting these sessions.

how long after my session with my photos be online?  a blogpost of your session will be posted within a week of the session, and usually sooner than that. your full online gallery is guaranteed to be posted within 15 days.

do you have an order minimum?  no and we have 6 different packages to suit every family’s needs – if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we will happily customize a package just for you.

do you have a senior representative program?  YES! and we have been blessed with the best reps ever in the past few years – they have been so great to work with! here’s how it works…. we accept 1 senior rep from each local high school and they receive their session free (including formals, the online gallery and facebook photos) in addition, they get 80 free wallet photos and 4×6 proofs of their whole session. we we also design a “rep card” from your favorite photo for you to hand out to your friends – for each card that one of your friends brings to us when we are hired to do their session, the rep will receive $20 in studio credit to spend on enlargements, coffee table books or fine art canvases. our senior rep spots filled up last year so email us at rayevalion@gilletteportraitarts.com today to get on the books!

we will announce all senior photography updates on facebook so go “like” us now by clicking here  -  we can’t wait to meet you!
