what do get when you combine a whole crew of girlfriends who are lovely, hysterical and have fabulous style on the beaches of dewey for a weekend getaway? well, the result is one of my favorite sessions from this season. I just wanted to share a few photos of some of the coolest women I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. it was such a fun + beautiful evening and I had the best time with all of you – I can’t wait until your next visit!

the first time I met the lovely nefret was 10… count em, 10 YEARS ago when she served as a flower girl at her uncle tim and aunt jenni’s wedding. in the years since, jenni has become one of my closest friends and I have photographed this whole big and beautiful family many times. but when jenni contacted me a couple of months ago, she had a plan.. and it was a secret. nefret’s mom, beth, had a birthday coming up and jenni thought it would be really cool to have a session just for nef – a little hair, a little makeup and a lot of fun! she has grown into one of the kindest and most beautiful girls I’ve ever known and I loved every second of this session. I have been itching to blog this but because of the surprise factor I knew I had to wait… fortunately beth celebrated her birthday at the beach this past weekend and was given prints from this session as a gift – and I was given the thumbs up to post. thank you nefret for such a fun morning and HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!! xoxo

Most days I take for granted how close I live to my family, and I rarely think how it would be if we lived all over the country, but that is the case for the Lawson family.  From watching them interact with each other you would have no idea that they only get to see each other once or twice a year.  They traveled from Boston, San Diego, and everywhere in between, to Ocean City all to celebrate Aunt Liz’s birthday and visit for a week.  I truly had a wonderful evening with you all and I hope you come back and visit again soon!!

My friend, Emily, and I had not seen each other since college so when she contacted me about photographing her family I was more than excited!  Not only would we be able to catch up, I would also get to meet her husband Tommy and their beautiful daughter, Boston!  We were hoping for a fun afternoon in the snow but as we kept in contact throughout our mild winter, we realized it probably wasn’t going to happen this year.  I’m almost glad it didn’t because for our session Boston showed up in an adorable sun dress and bow. :)

I’m so glad I got to see you all and to finally meet baby Boston!  She is absolutely amazing :)  Thanks for a wonderful afternoon!

meet the brous family! this was such a fun FUN group to work with. as soon as I met up with them in ocean city I knew it was going to be a great session – they were all relaxed and open to any suggestion that I made. then dad joel had one of the coolest suggestions ever. they own and operate the flamingo motel and wanted to incorporate it in a few of the photos…. suddenly joel said ‘well we could go on the roof’ to which I replied ‘ummm… YES!!’ I loved it! from a few dune burrs to cartwheels it was a fabulous afternoon :)

thank you all for such a great day – I had a blast!

If you follow us on the blog or on facebook then you know we recently had our fall mini sessions.  Liv and I were so stoked for the weekend because we knew we’d be working with some of our favorite clients plus meeting new friends who were joining us for minis for the first time.  We love mini sessions because it gives us the opportunity to work with a lot of different people at the same time.  Despite windy and sometimes chilly conditions, our clients were amazing to work with as always.  If you weren’t able to make it to our fall mini sessions keep an eye out on the blog for our Mother’s Day minis coming this spring! :)

We had so much fun with you guys!  We barely paid attention to the hazards of the job ( ie: seagull attacts and sand drifts – love you liv ;) )

if you’ve read the blog at all, you are familiar with the donoways as well as the whole gordy crew. they are a big and beautiful family that I absolutely adore and I’ve had the honor of photographing for years. with jenny and keith, we have shot their wedding, jenny’s maternity, the twin’s newborn photos and some photos of the whole family. so when jenny contacted me during our mother’s day promotion I was so happy to work with them yet again. as you’ve heard with previous blogposts, mother nature threw our schedule into a tizzy so I met up with jenny, keith and the girls at a later date in byrd park. as an added bonus, the family of carla, an exchange student who lived with the gordys years ago was in town so they participated as well. I love watching libby and evie as they continue to grow – they’re so beautiful!

until next time xoxo

I’ve known lisa since I opened the palette where she was a regular (and probably still is!) she was one of the first to sign up for the mothers day mini-session promotion we had last weekend and fortunately her scheduled time was late enough in the day to miss the rain – we had to reschedule all of the early sessions. mother nature reminding me once again who is in charge! despite some wind, the afternoon was perfect and lisa was joined by her 3 beautiful daughters and new furry family member yoda :)

thanks ladies (including you yoda) for a really fun session!
