“Want to try my spicy sausage dip?”  That’s all it took for these high school sweethearts to fall in love and develop a beautiful relationship.  When Stef and Kevin were planning their wedding they chose Circle D Farm as the location – a gorgeous farm located in Woodbine, Maryland.  They could not have asked for a more perfect, fall day.  The leaves were beining to change and there wasn’t a cloud in sight.  :) Stef and Kevin, being true Marylanders, had the Natty Boh guy and the Utz girl as their cake topper.  This is just one of the many details they thoughtfully included in their day.  I knew from their engagement session that Stef and Kevin’s friendship, love and laughter would be ever present on their wedding day – and with their friends and family they celebrated their joy.

Congratulations Stef and Kev!  I’m so happy you two have each other and that I could be there with you on this amazing day.  :)

Jenna and Josh are such an amazing couple – on an individual level and as a whole.  After meeting up with them for their engagement session, I felt like I had known them forever.  They are so comfortable together and completely in love.  I had anticipated their wedding for a long time and it was everything I thought it would be and more! :)  Jenna designed and created most of the details herself and they had a gorgeous day for a wedding!  They were married at the River House Inn overlooking the Pocomoke River and had a variety of Smith Island Cakes in multiple flavors.  Jenna and Josh had a wonderful wedding surrounded by their loving family and many friends.

Thank you so much for letting me spend this amazing day with you two.  I am so happy for both of you! :)

I knew the moment that I received Jen and Hektor’s questionnaire sheet (a pre-wedding form we send to our couples that they fill out which lets us get to know them a little better) that this wedding was going to be amazing and right up my alley!  She told me that it was going to be a vintage/etsy theme but it wasn’t until I saw the original 1920 Ford that it actually sank in.  Jen and Hektor met one summer in Ocean City working at PGN Crab House so it was only fitting that they have their reception there.  They were married on Sunset Island with Dewey, their lovable pup, as the best man.  The whole gang met up at the boardwalk for some games and rides (and of course, photos!) then headed to the reception where 3 delicious cakes from Desserts by Rita awaited.  I was so happy I could partake in this awesome, fun-filled day with such a lovely couple.  Thank you Jen, Hektor and Dewey for sharing your big day with me. :)

Thanks again for such a wonderful day!  I wish you both the best! :)

When I heard that Lauren and Steve were getting married in a 30 room mansion on the beach I was more than stoked!  Even though heavy rains caused the wedding to be moved inside- everyone had an amazing time.  lauren’s uncle john spent months to create an awesome 9 layer cupcake tree (gorgeous!) and Hook Productions kept the dance floor packed!  Lauren’s dress was stunning! It had gathered flowers over the shoulder that cascaded down the back.  Steve and Lauren met at Steve’s restauraunt a few years ago and knew they were meant to be.  I was so excited they chose to partake in a “first look”- they are always so touching and I wasn’t disappointed this time either. :)  I always love capturing the moment when a bride and groom first see each other on the day they’ve been waiting for for so long.  Thank you Lauren and Steve for letting me share that day with you.

Married! :)

I wish you both love and happiness! :)

technically this was a trash-the-dress – although I have some further plans for christina that include some underwater goodness that will really trash it. but for me it was just an amazing opportunity to photograph 2 friends I love dearly. see I’ve known bobby’s parents, pam and bill basically my whole life – but it wasn’t until I moved back and especially after I opened the palette that I got to know everyone in this amazing family. in the years since, all 3 gordy kids have married and all had kids – 5 total. and my camera has been there for a lot of it which has been amazing. when christina voiced interest earlier this year in doing a trash-the-dress session, I was thrilled because I didn’t shoot their wedding. when she said that bobby was coming along, I approached it like I would a wedding day shoot – except with unlimited time, and multiple locations, and no worries about messing up the dress – also known as heaven :) we started out down by the bay which was meant to be because although I didn’t know it, christina’s dad had been a waterman – she loved the location and it showed. after we finished up there I was determined to find some hay or wheat fields to play in and bobby suggested the perfect spot. as we drove up we noticed some people and a dog playing around the baled stacks and almost left – but of course bobby knew them and they didn’t seem to be phased by the wedding dress or the stranger with the camera *whew* the weather was perfect all afternoon and I couldn’t have asked for better people to shoot with. christina and bobby are a gorgous couple – inside and out

thank SO much for such a great session – I had the best time!! xoxo

rachel and dustin were married on a glorious spring day at the amazing brittland estates - it was the perfect start to our spring/summer 2011 season. they met back in 2008 at a picnic where they were working on different political campaigns and have been together ever since. when you see them together, you know they are a perfect match. when we shot their e-session I was so inspired by their love and friendship and it was on display times ten on their wedding day! everything was planned perfectly and every detail special. It was simply an honor to be there to document rachel and dustin, their amazing families and friends.

when rachel’s dad, al came in the room, his reaction was priceless!

aren’t they amazing??

I think toasts are some of my favorite moments of the day….

…. especially with happy tears

rachel’s dad al dedicated a song to her mom beth later in the evening and I’ve got to admit… I got a little misty

my best friend (and sky’s mom) workin’ her point and shoot :)

there’s already been discussion about a round two this summer/fall and if it’s anyting like this shoot, we can’t waitt!

better later in the day (or evening!) than never! it occurred to us while we was finishing up watermarking that we should have edited + posted these in 2 different posts. but they are ready to go so why not post them all? we’ve have had SO much amazing feedback through FB, texts and emails – we’re so excited to hear from everyone! we’ve also gotten a lot of inquiries about who participated in this shoot with us. one thing is for sure – if you’re getting married, our vendors are your dream team! we listed everyone on monday’s post, but we thought it may be easier to post it again

tomorrow we wrap it all up with some behind the scenes photos and portraits of courtney and brittany!

morgan and her husband rich contacted me for an e-session this past spring. it’s not very often that I get asked specifically for an e-session, but for morgan and rich it was because they were having a destination wedding in jamaica but wanted to make sure that they got some images that reflected them because the resort photographer was going to shoot the wedding. now morgan also played along in a contest we had last year and she was the winner winner chicken dinner of a editorial bridal session (aka trash the dress, rock the frock, etc.) I had a location in mind that I was dying to play in and when I met morgan early that morning she was happily on board. now I said that it was chilly in the title of this post and that is a lie – it was COLD!! bone chilling, teeth chattering frigid and I was so grateful that morgan was beyond amazing about taking off her coats and sweater once I got her posed like I wanted. she was so great that you can’t even tell in her expression how polar bearish it really was!

thanks morgan!!

kelly and I had gotten together about a month and a half before her wedding to do her bridal photos. so I’ve had these completed for quite a while, but coudn’t post them until after the wedding. we shot in crisfield at her mother’s house which was a gorgeous home on the water and the location of the upcoming wedding. at first we were all a bit nervous becuase it was crazy windy – the thing we altered for the session because of the weather was to nix the veil – but apart from that, you would have never known how much os was blowing. her hair barely moved – I told her that her stylist needed to do a repeat performance on her wedding day, because I was amazed how well it held up!

beautiful day and a beautiful bride – I’ll be posting their wedding soon!
