I’ve said it before, but it certainly is worth repeating. I love my job – for many many reasons – but most of all, it’s the relationships that I’ve formed over the years that I cherish most of all. Hannah and her family are a prime example. Her parents – stephanie & jeff got married a week before my husband and I did and kristie and I did the photography. jeff had made this beautiful arbor for the wedding and while we were doing portraits of just the two of them, I kept commenting on how pretty it was and suddenly jeff asked me if I had my “something borrowed” yet for my wedding. I was confused for a moment and said that I didn’t think I did. so he said – well, now you do! and he and steph drove the arbor down to snow hill for our wedding – how cool is that!?!?! so we’ve all been friends ever since. when steph found out she was pregnant, they came down to assateague for a maternity shoot and then I went to cambridge when hannah was one for a shoot in their garden. This wonderful friendship started with a phone call inquiring about wedding photography. there are not many other professions where you’re invited into the most special events of a family’s life and I feel so blessed to do what I do!

unfortunately, jeff was under the weather on this day – but hannah and steph had so much fun playing on the beach. I love this next shot because hannah looks like she is contimplating the vastness of the ocean

“please…. no pictures. I’m doing some serious sand business here…”

this last shot is easily my favorite of the day – lots of mother-daughter love!

I had such a great afternoon – hannah is such a cool little girl! after she had gotten wet in the ocean she kept saying “mommy, I need dry pants” – then she’d forget about it but then would repeat it, forget, repeat, etc. I was cracking up! I can’t wait for year number three – love you guys!
