I had SO much fun at this wedding – it was amazing! I’ve known members of alex’s family my whole life, but had never met alex until he and kelly came into the palette one night. they were talking about their engagement and upcoming wedding and one thing led to another ane kelly left with my photography information. A bit later she called me and we set up to meet and I was thrilled when they decided that they wanted to work with me. they have such great energy and joy when they’re together. as their wedding day approached, kelly and I got together to scout out photo locations which was a lot of fun. kelly and alex had specifically set aside a good chunk of time for photos in 3 different areas in berlin and assateague and we had such a gorgeous day!

work it girl! kelly just wanted to have a good time and get some fun photos – getting down onto the sand? yep!
okay – now this is one of the cooler things I’ve ever seen at a reception….. kelly & alex’s cake is pictured above, and behind it is a curtain. you wouldn’t really think anything of it, but I and a handful of people knew what was behind it. kelly’s parents were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks after her wedding – so kelly has her baker create an exact replica of her parents wedding cake. kelly even went on ebay to find the same topper and plastic swans. so after kelly and alex cut their cake, the MC told the crowd of the upcoming anniversary and then the curtain was pulled back to reveal the surprise – it was SO great and so emotional – I loved it!!!

these last 2 photos were taken during their last dance and I adore that they are just so blissed out all the way to the end!
thank you THANK YOU kelly and alex for allowing me to play a part in your amazing wedding – the whole day was so special and filled with joy from beginning to end and I love love LOVED it!! I loved your families, your band, the toast and especially the two of you! you’re an amazing couple and I know you’ll have the happiest of future together!
