I remember the first time I met Claire last year in Annapolis.  I was sitting at the restaurant and it was almost like a blind date.  She was in Ohio going to Med school so we had been communicating through email.  Through our correspondence I could already tell that she had a larger than life personality and it was confirmed when she walked in the door.  After we greeted each other with a hug we talked everything + anything wedding!  This is when I first learned that her pups, Herbie + Bexley would be walking down the aisle and how Claire’s sister, Maria (who is 9,000 miles away in Cambodia) helped Ben with his amazing proposal!  I was getting antsy for the wedding already. Fast forward to the next year with sunny skies + family and friends and we had the perfect afternoon for a wedding!  Claire + Ben got married at the historic Elkridge Furnace Inn overlooking the Patapsco River.  The Hora got the party started and everyone carried on into the night.  Laura + I loved the homemade details and cupcake tree!  This day was absolutely gorgeous and we are so happy for you both.  Thanks to the following vendors for helping make Claire + Ben’s big day a success:

Make-Up + Hair:  Alison Harper + Co

Caterer:  The Furnace Inn

Florist:  Willow Oak Herb + Flower Farm

Baker:  Linda’s Bakery

Band:  Machaya

DJ:  Chris North

We’re so happy for you both and hope you enjoy your new life together in Atlanta!

to say this was a fun day is such an understatement.. from start to finish every moment of this awesome wedding was a true celebration of love and friendship. christine and brian were married on a gorgeous day at the bordeleau winery. there was seriously not a cloud in the sky as we met up with them as they were getting ready.. christine with her girls at a private home near the vineyard and the guys at the vineyard. as christine waited to put her dress, she read from a journal that brian had kept daily since 3 months prior to the big day – he even designed the cover! who does that? brian does :) after a little downtime by the pool, christine put on her gown and boarded a horse drawn carriage that brought her, her father and her bridal party to the vineyard – as christine would say ‘it’s so princess-y!’. christine walked down the aisle as their friend sang ‘only love’ by ben howard which we have been waiting and hoping all season to hear. all wedding ceremonies are special but what made this one even more so was that their pastor from north carolina traveled up here to the ceremony specifically to officiate – there’s always something very cool about having someone up there with you as you make this commitment who really knows who you are as a couple and is a part of your history. you can tell just by meeting them that christine and brian have such a special connection and a true+real love and as they exchanged vows, the emotion was felt by everyone present. after photographing the portraits in the vineyard, the reception began and it was such a great time! between some of the best toasts ever to s’mores, root beer floats and a dance floor that never stopped, christine and brian never left each other’s side and couldn’t stop smiling. we absolutely loved sharing this day with such special people and are so happy for them!

thank you SO much for such a wonderful day! we wish you so much happiness as you begin your life together as man and wife!

years ago when I photographed the christmas wedding of liz and john, little did I know that not only would liz and I become good friends, but that in the summer of 2013 I would be photographing their two beautiful sons, mason and cooper. every time we hold mini-sessions, the glovers are one of the first families to sign up but this was the first time in a long time that I had unlimited time to just have fun with their boys and get to know them better. they are both so nice, polite and funny and definitely comfortable in front of a camera (liz takes a few photos of her boys.. and by a few, I mean millions lol) they went from the slide to jungle gym.. back to the slide, to the swings… I got a workout jut trying to keep up! :) and at the end of the session I was able to have some time to photograph liz and john alone… something I haven’t had the pleasure of doing since wedding day and their love is still as present and overflowing as it was on that december saturday several years ago.

i had so much fun with you guys- see you soon!

A few years ago, I was honored to photograph Kristin and Bryan‘s beautiful wedding, which was wonderful for a perfect couple.  Naturally, when I recently received the news that they wanted to do a newborn session with their baby boy, Owen, I was more than excited!  I always look forward to seeing my couples again, but when I get the chance to capture their precious moments of new parenthood, the reunion is even sweeter.   Owen was joined by his cousins for a few photos, but he was very relaxed and content in his parents’ loving embrace.  I am so happy for this growing family, and I cannot wait to see them again in the years to come.

Emily, Justin and I have been anticipating their engagement session for a long time.  I love when couples come to me with a place in mind for their engagement session that means something to them.  Emily + Justin currently live in Massachusetts but met in Lancaster, Pennsylvania during their college years at Franklin & Marshall.  So when they suggested photographing in PA I immediately agreed!  Pennsylvania Dutch country is filled with gorgeous farms and landmarks- I couldn’t wait!  We started on campus then made our way to the beautiful Hunsecker’s Mill Covered Bridge overlooking the Conestoga River.  Emily + Justin we real troopers.  They went out on a limb for me (literally) to get some great shots on the bridge.  They’re wedding date is 6-7-14 so we were happy to find the numbers on F&M’s track!  I really had a great evening with you two.  I love how you make each other laugh and are truly best friends.  I am looking forward to next year! :)

christina and cj both grew up here on the eastern shore but are currently living in washington state so they did most of their planning via long distance and with the help of friends and family.. and it turned out perfectly! it was a stunning day as we got to the private home where the ceremony was taking place. chairs were being set up and last minute details applied as christina and her ladies pulled up the drive. as she got ready inside, cj arrived with his guys and his and christina’s dogs dexter and deezal (who cj drove across the country just so they could be there for wedding day!) as friends and family looked on, the ceremony began on the water’s edge and was peppered with laughter, tears and personal touches. the reception was definitely a collaborative effort complete with homemade jam favors made by christina’s 89 year old grandmother and pies baked by the family. the venue bordered a gorgeous beach and we were graced with an amazing sunset! we had such a wonderful time celebrating with christina, cj and all of their friends and family!

congratulations! we are SO happy for you and wish you a life together of love and calm seas :) we hope you’re having a great time on your road trip back west!

Miss Laila is no stranger to my camera.  I’ve been photographing her before she was even born! :)  Her mamma + I have been friends for a long time and I was so happy when she welcomed this sweet, little girl into the world two years ago.  We photographed a maternity, newborn + her 6 month session.  I can hardly believe how big she’s grown and being able to see her grow up is a gift.  By the end of our session I was determined to take her home with me!  Laila was a little shy of the waves but loved playing in the sand!  She brought along her entourage- mom, Gigi + Mauna along with some of her favorite shoes (not even a forth of her collection!) I had so much fun spending the afternoon with four generations of  amazing + beautiful ladies.  Can’t wait till next time! xoxo Kristie

we had been looking forward to jennifer and patrick’s big day for awhile. for one, we loved them… from our first meeting at the studio to their esession with pup obi, we had just kind of clicked right away and we knew that documenting their wedding day would be amazing. second, their venue was the spectacular combsberry inn, nestled back by the water in historic oxford. and lastly, they are just cool people so we knew that everything from the food (catered by the groom!) to the fashion to the details were going to be perfect and right up our alley! the day was gorgeous and as we walked the grounds of the inn, we caught patrick dancing while he and his son christian set up the raw bar area to be enjoyed by guests during cocktail hour. not only was it kind of adorable to see such a visibly happy groom, but to see father and son prepare together for such a special day was very cool. jennifer and her ladies were in full tilt getting ready mode as we made our way up to the bridal suite. as a makeup artist herself, jennifer had a crew of true pros with her and the results were perfection! when getting ready for their first look, they suggested the english garden to the side of the inn which was ideal with a staircase entrance and a gorgeous and private spot for them to share their joy and excitement before walking down the aisle. with a dreamy breeze coming off the water, they said ‘i do’ under a big and shady tree as family and friends cheered. the reception in the barn was beautiful and such a wonderful setting for the night’s festivities – funny and touching toasts were shared, scrumptious food was served and the dance floor was jumpin’! we are so very happy for you and are so grateful that we got to share such a special day with you

we are so SO happy for all of you! wishing you a life full of happiness, laughter + love!

if you’re a follower of the blog, you’ve seen kelly and alex as they got married, when they were in kelly’s brother kevin’s wedding and when they welcomed their son daniel into the world. now a little over a year later, daniel is a happy and active little boy who smiles constantly and is a joy to be around. even at this young age, he is already in love with all things golf so the course near their house seemed the perfect location to shoot. I always love the time I spend with them and we spent much of our time together chatting and catching up. even though I hope to see them before this fall, I am so excited to see the whole family at erin’s wedding :)

thank you SO much for a wonderful evening! I loved getting to spend time with daniel – he’s such an awesome little boy xoxo
