screen shot

If you remember my blog from late july/early august – I was blessed enough to be able to attend the love affair workshop in atlanta. One of the instructors was kelly moore who is an absolutely amazing photographer. she shared with us that she was working on a camera bag and even asked all us girls for some input! I knew it would be great, but her site for the bags has just launched and they are incredible!! Amazing colors and style all geared with professional shooters in mind.  I’ve already put the bug in my santa’s ear. go check her out at

meet sam! I had a shoot with sam about a week and a half ago for a very special client – sam belongs to chuck strickler. chuck was a minister here in snow hill for a long time and is VERY important to my family.  he married my parents, baptized me, presided over the funerals of both of my grandparents and married me and my husband – lots of history!  he lost his wife this past april, so when his daughter contacted me to do a shoot with sam for an christmas gift – I was more than willing. not only do I love chuck dearly – I adore dogs. photographing dogs, playing with dogs, napping with dogs. If I go to a social event and there are dogs there, more than likely I will spend more time with the dogs than with people. those who know me well, know the importrant part my dogs have played in my life and to photograph them is just the best.  sam was so much fun!

thank you cherrie and cindy for inviting me to do this for your dad – it’s the least I can do after all he’s done for me and my family. and I love sam!! he’s a great big ball of love

meet the alder family! mom jennifer contacted me about doing a family shoot roughly a month ago and we set it up. her adorable son dash is of that age where his naptime is ever changing so when I got there he was not happy – poor guy. I was able to get some photos of jen and her husband ben plus some great shots of their dogs beatrice and lady

beatrice was very ready for her close-up :)

dash before…….

dash after…. I know exactly how it feels to be that tired. when I went back a few weeks later – dash was a lot happier to see me and gave me a tour of the backyard, especially the garden which he loves, before we headed back inside.

lady’s turn in the chair

jen & ben were so much fun to work with and dash’s infectious giggle had me smiling all the way home. and beatrice & lady? 2 of the most lovely girls I’ve had the chance to photograph!

If you follow my blog at all, you have seen the perunkos. I met jenni at my first wedding show ever! my mom was working my booth with me and when jenni passed by, I said to mom “now I can see working with her” I can’t explain it, but I knew that I wanted to shoot her wedding. not 20 minutes later, jenni came back and signed a contract – it was my first official wedding as gillette portrait arts. it quickly became clear to me that jenni and tim would be dream clients, but I had no idea that we would become such good friends. I become friends with a lot of my clients, but I consider jenni one of my closest friends here on the shore and feel so fortunate to have her and her whole family in my life – they are truly amazingly kind and awesome people. spending the afternoon on the beach with jenni, tim & rogan was just so much fun! I love watching the little man grow – he’s such a cutie!

thank you for yet again allowing me to photograph your wonderful family – love you guys!
